Create a Project

Begin your quality management at the top with Cross Check. This step-by-step guide will walk you through creating a project — the cornerstone of your QA hierarchy. Within your project, you’ll be able to structure milestones, and features, and organize test cases, bugs, and test runs, ensuring a comprehensive and efficient QA process. Let’s build the groundwork for success.

What You'll Need:
  • An active Cross Check account with Owner, Admin, and Project Manager role access.
  • For Free Plan users, ensure you have not exceeded the limit of 3 projects
  • For Basic Plan users, check that you have not surpassed the 50 project limit.
  • If you're on the Premium Plan, enjoy the freedom to create unlimited projects.

Note: Developer and QA roles do not have project creation access.

Creating Your Project:
Access the Add Project Form:
  • Click on the projects icon from the sidebar.
  • Click on the Add Project button.

Fill Project's Form:
  • Project Name: Enter a name for your project in the ‘Project Name’ field.
  • Project Status: Select the current status of your project from the dropdown menu: choose between 'Open' or 'Close'.
  • Share with: Use the 'Share With' dropdown to select which users or team members you want to share the project with.
  • ID Series: Create a unique ID series for your project with a 3-letter alphabet code for easy identification and tracking. (not available in the free plan)
Review and Create Project:
  • Double-check all the entered information for accuracy.
  • Click the ‘Save’ button to finalize the creation of your new project.

Note: By default, all projects are shared with Owners and Admins. You cannot remove admins and owners from the project's members.

You’ve now successfully created a project in Cross Check. This new project is ready for you to begin managing test cases, reporting bugs, and much more.
