Crosscheck provides powerful sharing and access control features that enable seamless collaboration while maintaining security and privacy.
This guide covers how to share checks with team members, manage access permissions, and control who can view and interact with your documentation.


Understanding Sharing in Crosscheck

What Can Be Shared

In Crosscheck, you can share:

  • Individual Checks: Screenshots, screen recordings, and instant replay captures
  • Public Links: Accessible to anyone with the link
  • Private Access: Restricted to specific team members

Sharing Methods

  1. Share with Specific People

    • Send direct email invitations
    • Recipients receive access request email
  2. Public Link Sharing

    • Anyone with the link can view
    • No login required
    • Ideal for stakeholder communication

How to Share a Check

Method 1: Using the Share Button

  1. Navigate to All Checks in your dashboard
  2. Find the check you want to share
  3. Click the quick share icon
  4. Choose a method:
    • Copy Link: Generate a shareable link
    • Share with Someone: Invite specific people via email
  5. Configure access (public or private)

Method 2: Using the Context Menu

  1. Right-click on a check or open the three-dot menu (⋮)
  2. Select Share with someone
  3. Enter recipient email(s)
  4. Click Invite
  5. Recipients receive an email notification

Sharing Modal Features

  • Preview: Thumbnail, title, description, creator, and tags
  • Access Control:
    • Public Link (“Anyone with the link”)
    • Specific Users (email invitations)
    • Remove users anytime

Access Control Features

Permission Levels

Viewers Can:

  • View content and details
  • Download screenshots and recordings
  • Access metadata
  • View comments

Viewers Cannot:

  • Edit or modify checks
  • Re-share checks
  • Delete checks
  • Change permissions

Access Management

  • Who has access: View list of users
  • Remove users: Trash icon → Confirm removal (user notified)

Shared Content Organization

“Shared With Me” Section

  • Access from Dashboard → Shared With Me
  • Browse, filter, and search shared checks
  • Add comments, download, or view details

Security & Privacy

  • Public Links: No login, anonymous, easy sharing
  • Private Links: Login required, tracked access, secure

Data Protection

  • Protects: Content, user info, comments
  • Controls: Revoke permissions, delete content, manage accounts
